The guidance is consistent in suggesting that a distinction should be maintained between home and work in both time and place. In particular it suggests that home workers shouldn't start working in their pyjamas. This is not a consideration for FB since he does not wear pyjamas. (This might be too much information for the more sensitive reader in which case he apologises. But for the avoidance of doubt, Mrs FB keeps her opinions to herself on these matters). So going to work in what he has slept in is not really a temptation - particularly when a video meeting is first up.
The guidance does not give too much guidance on what should be worn. But it does not suggest that cricket kit is inappropriate. FB has therefore been slaving in full whites. This has some drawbacks - he is not able to get his pads easily under the desk and the gloves reduce his keyboard skills a bit. In addition, the heat in his box can get uncomfortably noticeable by the end of the day. (This might be also too much more information for the sensitive reader).
The guidance also suggests that the home worker should consider compiling a list of happy music to lighten the darker moments. FB has done so - and he introduces the Happy Tunes CC First XI drawn from 1960's pop music. Selection was tough - there are so many possibilities. But these are among the tunes that will gladden FB's heart, get his feet tapping under the desk and get him singing along. Each one a little ray of sunshine.
There is no other candidate for team manager than Soul Limbo by Booker T and the MGs - the sound of cricket. It is the only cricket related tune in the selection.
Under his management is the following XI (not in batting order)
All You Need is Love - The Beatles
Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
I Only Want to Be with You - Dusty Springfield
I'm Into Something Good - Herman's Hermits
Everlasting Love - The Love Affair
59th Bridge Street Song - Simon and Garfunkel
The Happening - The Supremes
Here Comes My Baby - The Tremeloes
I Wanna Hold Your Hand - The Beatles
Baby I Love You - The Ronettes
In the Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
A little dance around the room keeps FB going. Try it.
FB betrays his age with that selection. At the risk of being a little bit modern, how about Timbaland/Katy Perry and If We Ever Meet Again?
ReplyDeleteFB not sure that his age was ever a secret to be betrayed. Your music suggestion is far too modern for him but he's glad you enjoy it.
