A royal visit

Lady in Red
But Her Majesty
will wear traditional whites
for her matches in Ireland
Buckingham Palace released details yesterday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's visit to Ireland in May.  This historic visit is the first by a British Head of State since the disastrous ICC decision to exclude Ireland from the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

A Palace spokesperson said, 'Her Majesty has long experience of visiting disaster areas and comforting the victims of atrocity.  We are sure she can bring a distressed nation a small measure of comfort in this time of desperate need.'

She will be accompanied by Prince Philip on whose behalf the spokesperson told Fantasy Bob, 'The Prince looks forward to playing 3 one day fixtures against the Irish squad.  He fully agrees that the ICC are a bunch of feckers.'

Fantasy Bob understands that the tour will include visits to important cricketing sites including Dublin's Garden of Remembrance, Croke Park,  Phoenix Park and Dublin Castle.  The Royal couple will also have some net practice with the Taoiseach at Government Buildings and watch an IPL match on TV with the President Mary Macaleese.
